How to Write an Essay in Narrative FormWriting an essay in narrative form can be quite challenging. Many students are given this task during the first few semesters of college and typically become dissatisfied with the degree they write. There are many reasons why you can't produce a good essay in this format.Create a plan. Once you decide to create a personal essay, you need to decide how you want to write it. If you have a specific topic you wish to cover, try writing an essay within that topic. You can simply use the same words and sentences as if you were writing a journal essay, or you can try to expand upon them.Format your essay. Keep the structure of your essay the same for the paragraphs and sentences. You may want to introduce an argument, then present it in a summary. You may want to describe the major points of the essay, followed by a closing statement. Do not add anything extra unless you know how to effectively organize your thoughts and ideas.Convey emotion. When writ ing an essay in narrative form, emotion is the most important aspect. Whether it's mourning a loved one, coping with the death of a spouse, finding oneself in a new environment, or all of the above, emotions play a large role in the overall message.
